A Great Fishing Experience

Lavington Angling Club is based in Great Cheverell near Westbury in Wiltshire. We have two lakes to choose from each with its own characteristic fishing. From catching loads of small fish to more challenging sizes. We have a great range of species from Carp, Tench, Roach, Bream, Chub and Perch There is easy access to all lakes with paths that will suit every trolley. Car parking is easy with plenty of room. We have on site toilet facilities.

Our Lakes Offer Great Angling To All.

Ellis Lake

Ellis is one of our bigger lakes. with plenty of pegs available all with metal platforms. Great variety of fish species with sizes to suit all. Carp, Tench, Bream, and Perch. Variety to suit every member.

Merrits Lake

A good sized lake with a mixed fishery with the larger Carp, but also good sized Bream, Chubb, Perch and other silver species. Easy access with space for the more dedicated carp angler. If you enjoy catching larger fish then, you will not be disappointed. We have changed the dynamics of this lake so the carp anglers amongst us will enjoy the benefit, but we have more planned.

Gilberts Lake

Gilbert Lake is the smallest on the complex. Over the past couple of years it has been the target of Cormorants. Having had the lake netted the fish stock was almost gone. The committee decided under the guidance of our advisor to close the lake for fishing, net the top and use it as a breeding pond to restock our other lakes. Please see the Gilbert's Lake page. In November 23, we netted the lake and were able to restock our other lakes a great success story. Nothing better than home grown stock.

New Membership - A Click Away

We have a wide variety of members that are from the local area and from further afield. Our membership for an Adult is just £80 per year. Youth (14-17) is £35 and Child (8-13) is £10 per year.
